Dean Lewis (1987) is an Australian singer who rose to stardom rapidly after releasing his very first single “Waves” in 2016. He was not very popular prior to his debut single’s release, even on the digital music platforms. The young Sydney-born artist first witnessed overwhelming response from the Australian audience, and eventually his popularity reached fans across the world. Lewis wrote the song for his father, who was diagnosed with cancer in 2019.
